We have been busy as usual, in particular working to help spread the word about the National Education Nature Parks. Lots going on reported in the newsletter.

December 5th is World Soil Day, so look out for some great soil-based ideas:

The West Yorkshire Eco-Educators Network launched on Monday 19th April 2021 and meets at least once every half term.

Educators from across the region meet virtually to exchange ideas and resources for teaching about the climate and ecological crises and other environmental issues. Listening to each other inspires, supports and renews our energy, spurring us all on to think bigger and act more boldly! The Eco-Educators Network, hosted by the NEU, is open to all classroom practitioners, whatever your union, whatever your phase of education, whatever the funding status of your school.

In the short time we have been meeting, we have seen COP26 conferences in schools; record numbers of trees planted in some schools; poetry, art, prose and song; plastic campaigns and school gardening as a few examples.

This term, we have seen more speakers in schools and some great COP27 inspired work including an appearance on Calendar local news! If you want to talk to your children and young people to explore what Global Justice or Climate Justice means as part of your PHSCE, Citizenship or Climate Education programme, you might find these introductory videos from BBC News helpful.
