The ITUC has called for years for workers to be involved in decision making as actions are taken to ameliorate the effects of climate change. Workers have the day to day experience of the processes of their workplaces, and where carbon savings can be made.
In this discussion, we have a GMB member and Workplace rep, talking about the changes they have made in the factory practices based on workplace suggestions.
Sarah Woolley, of the Bakers Union has lead their work on Sustainability within the Bakers Union and sits on inter union groups looking at how Unions should respond to the Climate Emergency.
Sam Mason, Policy officer of the PCS has lead policy development on Climate Change through the PCS and then across the Union movement. She is involved in all the union discussions as we approach this vitally important COP26.
