Yorkshire & Humber Climate Commission

September 9, 2021

The Yorkshire & Humber Climate Commission have been busy writing a Climate Action Plan for the region. This is really important as it provides the opportunity to link every local Climate Action Plan and work with regional organisations that need support to develop plans that have real impact.

Early in the summer, when we were talking to Cllr Jack Hemingway about Wakefield’s Climate Action Plan, we took the opportunity to have a quick chat about the Climate Commission – Jack is one of the four Vice-Chairs (one each from North, South, East and West Yorkshire).

You can hear all about it here.

The Climate Commission are running a public consultation on their action plan, including webinars and a survey. You can join in to make sure your views are heard and that you are up to date with their plans to help the region decarbonise and become more resilient to climate change impacts. It is our region, and we are all affected by climate change. We have not had such a bad time this summer compared to other parts of the World, but our time will come again – ask people in Fishlake and Hebden Bridge!
